Boys and girls track and field teams each capture third at Conference Indiana Championships

April 29, 2023 - The seventeenth-ranked boys and ninth-ranked Columbus North track and field teams each grabbed third-place finishes at the Conference Indiana Championships at Bloomington North High School on Friday evening (April 28). Bloomington North captured both the boys and girls team championships. Bloomington South took third in each division. Conference champions for the Bull Dogs included the girls 4x800m relay team of Carys Glyn-Jones, Kyleigh Wolf, Julie Klaus, and Lily Baker, who set a new Conference Indiana meet record in the event, finishing in 9:27.55. Julia Kiesler won the girls 3200m (11:05.11) for Columbus North. Will Russell won the boys 1600m (4:22.76) and the 3200m (9:33.83). He also joined Akot Tong, Kellen Hottell, and Mateo Mendez in capturing the boys 4x800m relay (7:53.56). Runners-up finishes for the Dogs included Baker in the girls 1600m, Moana Steele in the girls shot put, Owen Russell in the boys 300m hurdles, Liam Phillips in the boys pole vault, and Mendez in the boys 800m. Finishing third for Columbus North was Kiesler in the girls 1600m, Baker in the girls 800m, Marieme Niang in the girls pole vault, Liam Milne in the boys 110m hurdles, Rylan Eisfelder in the boys 300m hurdles, Neal White in the boys 3200m, and the boys 4x100m relay team.
