May 2, 2023 - On a cold, rainy evening at the Southside diamonds, the Bull Dogs cruised past Shelbyville 13-4 to improve to 10-7 for the season. The Dogs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings before giving up two runs in the third and two more in the fourth, allowing the Golden Bears to keep the game close. However, five more Bull Dog runs in the bottom of the fifth and a pair in the sixth sealed the victory for the home team. Luke Harmon was 3-for-4 on the night to lead North’s offensive attack. The Dogs also got two hits each from Zach McLean and Connor Hensley as they recorded eleven hits for the game, including doubles by McLean, Hensley, and Dillon James. Hensley led North with two RBI. McLean threw the first six innings for the Bull Dogs to secure the victory. He game up six hits and four earned runs while striking out seven. Joey Fry pitched the final inning, allowing a pair of hits and struck out one. The JV (White) team fell to 0-5 for the season with a 16-2 loss to Center Grove (White) in the other game last night.
