Girls soccer tops 16th-ranked Roncalli

September 5, 2025 - Head Coach David Young and his Columbus North girls soccer teams hosted Class 2A 16th ranked Roncalli on Thursday evening. Entering the contest, Roncalli’s only losses for the season had been to Class 3A #4 Cathedral and Class 1A #1 Heritage Christian. The Bull Dogs jumped out to a 4-1 halftime lead over the Royals and held on for a 4-3 victory to improve to 6-1 for the season. North recorded a 14-9 advantage in shots for the match, including an 8-5 edge in shots-on-frame. North’s two goalkeepers, Danika Hoehn and Gabby Revell each had a save in their split time in goal. Allison Kolhouse (shown) had a pair of goals and the Bull Dogs got one each from Grace Merritt and Grace Bethuram. Avery Baker, Riley Sims, and Lexi Roukas all recorded assists in the match. The Dogs’ JV team improved to 4-1 with a 1-0 victory in the early match. Next up for the Bull Dogs will be a road trip to Class 2A ninth-ranked Bishop Chatard on Monday, September 8. JV is scheduled to begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow.
