North rolls over Martinsville in girls volleyball

September 5, 2025 - Columbus North made quick work of Martinsville on the road Thursday evening, winning in straight sets (25-12, 25-17, 25-16) to improve to 8-6 for the season. North won the JV match 2-0, while the Artesians took the c-squad match 2-0. Setter Lexi Denny tallied 27 assists and 17 digs for the match. Hitter Karen Dutro recorded a team-high 15 kills, while Tania Maldonado earned ten kills. Morgan Osborn had 19 digs and 2 assists, while Sydney Ousley and Elaina Penrod chipped in five and four kills, respectively. North’s JV and freshman teams will compete in Hauser’s JV Invitational on Saturday, while the varsity will be back on the court next Tuesday, September 9 at Southport for a JV/varsity doubleheader.
