May 5, 2023 - The crowd was big, the weather was great, the seniors were honored. Everything was great about Columbus North’s baseball game against Greenwood except the final score. The Bull Dogs dropped to 10-8 for the season with a 4-3 loss at the hands of the Woodmen. Blake Osbourne got the start on the mound for the Bull Dogs, throwing five and two-thirds innings before being relieved by Ryan Rayburn. Osbourne allowed ten hits and all four runs (three earned) while striking out eight and walking four. Rayburn gave up just one hit and struck out three in relief. The Bull Dogs tallied seven hits, including a triple by Dillon James, but left eight runners on base for the game. The JV team improved to 11-2 for the season with an 11-1 victory over Greenwood. Brock Kintner had three hits and five RBI in the victory. Jeremy Emmitt pitched all five innings for the Dogs, allowing just three hits while striking out eight. North will try to bounce back this evening as they travel across town to face the Columbus East Olympians beginning at 7:00 pm.
