September 10, 2025 - Sophomore cross country runner Joseph Day has been named the Richard Hawes Insurance Bull Dog Athlete of the Week. Day, who was nominated by head cross country coach Rick Sluder, won both the Columbus East dual meet on August 26 and the Franklin Community Cross Country Invitational on August 30. Day’s winning time at the Franklin Community Invitational (15:34) was the second fastest by a sophomore in program history, and topped a field of 265 runners by over eleven seconds. Columbus North athletics congratulates Joseph Day for earning the Richard Hawes Insurance Bull Dog Athlete of the Week award.
