May 14, 2023 - The Bull Dogs let a 4-2 lead slip away in the bottom of the seventh inning at Terre Haute South, but rallied for four runs in the top of the eighth inning to secure an 8-4 Conference Indiana victory. Tyler Blythe went 3-for-4 from the plate, including a double, as the Dogs pounded out eleven hits for the game. Zach McLean and Luke Harmon each added a pair of hits for the Bull Dogs. McLean and Dillon James each tallied a pair of RBI in the victory, improving the Bull Dogs’ record to 13-9 and concluding their Conference Indiana season at 3-2. Harmon got the start and threw six and one-third innings before handing the ball off to reliever Ryan Rayburn for the last inning and one-third. Harmon allowed four runs, but none of them earned, as three Bull Dog defensive errors kept the Braves in the game. Harmon walked two and struck out four for the game. Rayburn had three strikeouts and didn’t allow a hit in his relief work. On Friday (May 12), the JV (White) squad fell to 0-8 for the season with a 12-2 loss at Bloomington North. The varsity team will travel to Fishers on Monday (May 15), while the JV (Blue) team (14-2) will host Fishers at the Southside Elementary diamonds. Both games are scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm.
