September 18, 2025 - The 19th-ranked Columbus North girls soccer team had been 9-0-1 in their last ten matches when they traveled to 18th-ranked Lawrence North on Wednesday evening, seemingly setting up a classic battle of evenly matched teams. The Wildcats had other plans and dominated the match for 80 minutes, leading to a 7-1 Lawrence North victory. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead into halftime, but scored less than one minute into the second half and again a few minutes later to build a 4-0 lead over the Bull Dogs. The Dogs finally got on the board when Lexi Roukas found the back of the net with 29 minutes remaining in the match to cut the Wildcat lead to 4-1. The rest of the match was all Lawrence North as they tacked on three more goals for a 7-1 victory. The JV team started the night on a positive note, earning their ninth consecutive shutout victory, a 3-0 decision over the Wildcats, to improve to 9-1 for the season. The Dogs will regroup and travel to Terre Haute North on Saturday, September 20. The varsity team will play first at 12:00 noon, followed by the JV match around 2:00. The Bull Dog boys will also play at Terre Haute North on Saturday, with the JV team playing at 12:00 and the varsity squad at 2:00.
