September 21, 2025 - Columbus North did a number of things well on Friday night at Class 6A third-ranked Carmel, but were unable to finish drives with points. They rushed for 117 yards, held the ball for over 30 minutes, and were 8-for-16 on third and fourth down conversions. However, the Dogs needed every point they could get as the defense struggled against Carmel’s high-powered offense all night long in a 56-7 defeat. The defense was unable to slow down the Greyhound offense, giving up 302 yards rushing and 251 yard passing for the game. Quarterback Asher Ratliff was 16-for-29 for 148 yards and touchdown to Parker Elmore. Elmore had six receptions for 53 yards, and Cohen Long added 67 yards receiving on five receptions. Ezekiel Scruggs rushed for 40 yards on nine carries, and Sam Perry added 39 yards rushing on ten carries. North and Carmel split the Saturday sub-varsity games, with the Bull Dogs taking the freshman game 34-28 and the Greyhounds winning the JV game 35-16. The Dogs will be on the road at Terre Haute North on Friday, September 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm due to the travel time for North and their fans.
