Highlanders slip by Bull Dogs in boys tennis

September 21, 2025 - Columbus North boys tennis traveled to Floyd Central on Saturday and fell 3-2 in a back-and-forth match with the Highlanders. Teddy Littrell and Vince Sasse cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at number one doubles to put the Dogs ahead 1-0. The Highlanders then evened the match with a 3-6, 1-6 victory over Max Wei at two singles, and then took a 2-1 lead when Luca Devidze and Jaishal Padmanabhan fell at two doubles 6-4, 5-7, 3-6. Jace Branham drew the Dogs even with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 come-from-behind victory at three singles, setting up the one singles match as the decisive match. Unfortunately for the Bull Dogs, Alek Devidze fell 3-6, 3-6 and the Dogs took the 3-2 defeat. The Bull Dogs (9-5, 2-2) will host Conference Indiana foe Bloomington North on Thursday, September 25, beginning at 5:30 pm.
