Volleyball finishes 2-2 in New Albany Invitational

September 21, 2025 - New Albany’s volleyball invitational showcases some of the best volleyball teams in southern Indiana. The Bull Dogs lost two very close matches and won their other two to improve to 14-8 for the season. The Dogs fell short in a pair of closely contested matches against Silver Creek (25-23, 23-25, 12-15) and Floyd Central (23-25, 24-26) before beating Jennings County (25-20, 25-20) and Tecumseh (25-14, 25-23). Tania Maldonado and Karen Dutro each had 28 kills for the tournament, including Dutro’s 1000th career kill for Columbus North. Dutro added ten blocks to lead the Dogs as well. Morgan Osborn recorded 43 digs, twelve service aces, and eight assists for the day. Lexi Denny paced the Bull Dogs in assists, with 82 for the tournament. Sydney Ousley and Elaina Penrod tallied 18 and 17 kills, respectively, and Hannah Perry and Kendal Wheeler each totaled 24 digs. North will travel back to New Albany on Tuesday to take on the Bulldogs in a non-conference matchup. JV and frosh will begin at 6:00 with the varsity to follow the JV match.
