Dogs fourth at girls track and field Regionals, advancing six events to State Meet

May 24, 2023 - Bull Dog girls track and field team set two Regional Meet records en route to a fourth-place finish at the Franklin Regional. The Bull Dogs’ 60 team points finished behind Center Grove (98), Warren Central (79), and Franklin Community (65). The North 4x800m relay team of Carys Glyn-Jones, Julia Kiesler, Julie Klaus, and Lily Baker set a new Regional Meet record time of 9:13.76 to secure their spot in the IHSAA State Championships. Baker also won the 1600m (4:59.94) and was second in the 800m (2:14.78). Julia Kiesler won the 3200m (10:31.90) to set another meet record. Glyn-Jones finished third in the 800m, and Klaus finished fourth in the 3200m and earned a call-back to the State Finals. Other Bull Dogs competing but not qualifying for the State Finals included Kyleigh Wolf (fourth in the 1600m), the 4x100m relay (10th), 4x400m relay (7th), Lana Wisler (8th in the high jump), Marieme Niang and Sierra Newell (12th in the pole vault), and Moana Steele (6th in the shot put). The State Finals will take place at Indiana University on June 3, 2023, beginning at 3:00 pm.
