North falls to New Albany in a battle of the Bulldogs

September 24, 2025 - Columbus North fell 3-1 at New Albany in girls volleyball action Tuesday evening. New Albany cruised to a 25-13 win in the first set, but North rallied to take set two 25-22. New Albany took a 2-1 lead after winning set three 25-17, and North had a 24-21 lead with the serve in set four before falling 27-25 to lose the match 3-1. Tania Maldonado and Karen Dutro each had twelve kills to lead North (14-9) in that category. Morgan Osborn led the Bull Dogs in digs, with 14. Rori Pollert and Lexi Denny each had nine digs as well for the Dogs. Osborn had four service aces, with Hannah Perry and Sydni Schiefer each adding two. Lexi Denny topped the Bull Dogs with 38 assists. The C-team fell 2-0 and the JV team dropped a 2-1 decision in the early matches. This was only the JV team’s second loss of the season. The Dogs won’t have much time to regroup as they host tenth-ranked Floyd Central this evening, beginning at 6:00 pm.
