North drops hard-fought decision to tenth-ranked Floyd Central

September 25, 2025 - Bull Dog volleyball went toe-to-toe with tenth-ranked Floyd Central (17-3) in Memorial Gymnasium on Wednesday night, winning the first set 26-24, before dropping the final three competitive sets 20-25, 21-25, 20-25. The Dogs are now 14-10 for the season. Prior to the start of the varsity match, the Bull Dogs welcomed area middle school and youth volleyball players as part of Middle School Night and also recognized seniors Karen Dutro and Morgan Osborn for eclipsing school records this season. Dutro is now the program record holder in kills and blocks, while Osborn sits atop the all-time list for digs and service aces. Statistical leaders for the Bull Dogs against Floyd Central included Kills: Sydney Ousley (13), Tania Maldonado (11), Dutro (9) Service Aces: Lexi Denny (3), Osborn and Kyndal Wheeler (2) Assists: Denny (31) Digs: Osborn (30), Hannah Perry (14) Blocks: Sydni Schiefer (4), Dutro, Denny, Elaina Penrod (3) The JV and C teams each lost 2-0 to Floyd Central in the early matches. North will host Greenwood this evening, beginning at 5:30 pm.
