Bull Dogs sweep Olympians in girls volleyball

October 4, 2025 - Columbus North girls volleyball swept all three matches at Columbus East on Thursday evening. The JV and C teams started the night with 2-1 victories, followed by a 3-0 victory in the varsity match for the Bull Dogs. The Dogs dominated the first set 25-13, but the Olympians rallied and took a lead midway through set two before North bounced back for a 25-21 victory. North then rolled 25-16 in set three to complete the sweep. Senior Morgan Osborn had 14 digs and six aces for the match to lead North in both categories. Karen Dutro topped all hitters with nine kills and added four blocks and a pair of aces. Lexi Denny paced the setters with 28 assists and had a pair of blocks and eight digs for the night. The Dogs also got eight kills from Tania Maldonado, and six from Elaina Penrod. Kyndal Wheeler and Hannah Perry had nine and six digs, respectively. North (17-10) will host Bloomington South on Tuesday and will recognize the program’s seniors. JV and C teams matches will begin at 6:00 with varsity to follow.
