Tennis team rolls to 5-0 victory in regional semifinals

October 8, 2024 - After weather delayed the start of the Columbus North boys tennis regional tournament from Tuesday to Wednesday, the Dogs had no trouble with Southwestern (Hanover), cruising to a 5-0 victory. Individual match results, in order of finish, included: 1S: Alek Devidze W 6-1, 6-0 2S: Max Wei W 6-1, 6-3 2D: Vince Sasse/Teddy Littrell W 6-2, 6-4 3S: Jace Branham W 7-6(4), 6-1 2D: Luca Devidze/Jaishal Padmanabhan W 6-1, 6-1 North will face Batesville in the regional finals at 5:30 pm on Thursday, October 9. Batesville beat Seymour in the other regional semifinal match. The winner will advance to the Center Grove semistate against either North Central or Cathedral. Columbus North beat Batesville 3-2 when they met on September 13 in the Columbus North Invitational.
