Dogs knock off Franklin Community in girls volleyball 3-1

October 10, 2025 - Franklin Community girls volleyball took the first set in Memorial Gym 25-20 on Thursday night, but the Dogs rallied and won the final three sets to beat the Grizzly Cubs (22-7) 3-1 and improve to 18-11 for the season. North won the last three sets 25-16, 25-21, and 25-18. Rori Pollert led the Bull Dogs in digs, with 19. Morgan Osborn added 16 digs and a pair of service aces. Karen Dutro had 14 kills to top all Dogs in that category, and Elaina Penrod and Sydney Ousley added 13 and eleven kills, respectively. The two squads split the two early matches, with North taking the JV match 2-0 and the Grizzly Cubs topping the Dogs 2-0 in the C-team match. This concluded the C-team season with a 6-10 record, having won four of their final five matches. The varsity and JV teams will finish the regular season with a home conference matchup against Terre Haute South on Saturday, October 11, beginning at 11:00 am. The varsity team will then begin sectional play next week.
