North beats Batesville 4-1 to claim 31st regional boys tennis title in program history

October 10, 2025 - Bull Dog boys tennis claimed its 31st (and eighth consecutive) regional title on Thursday evening, with a 4-1 victory over Batesville. The number one doubles team of Teddy Littrell and Vince Sasse put the Bull Dogs up 1-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 victory. North pushed the lead to 2-0 when Luca Devidze and Jaishal Padmanabhan teamed up to win their number two doubles match 6-1, 6-2. The team title was secured when the Dogs claimed their third victory, a 6-1, 6-2 decision at number one singles by Alek Devidze. Jace Branham put the Dogs ahead 4-0 when he won his number three singles match 6-4, 6-1. Batesville got its only match victory at number two singles when North’s Max Wei fell 6-1, 2-6, 3-10. The Bull Dogs will face Indianapolis Cathedral in the Center Grove semi-state on Saturday, October 11, beginning at 12:00 noon. Cathedral advanced with a 5-0 victory over North Central in their regional finals.
