By Jason Perry | Oct 11, 2025 2:45 PM
October 11, 2025 - When senior running back Sam Perry scored to put the Bull Dogs up 28-24 with 1:27 to play at Bloomington North, it looked like the Dogs were going to come home with a victory. The Cougars, however, drove the length of the field with no timeouts and scored to take a 31-28 lead. The Dogs’ last chance field goal was blocked as time expired and the Bull Dogs dropped to 4-4 for the season. Columbus North had 435 yards of total offense (124 on the ground and 311 through the air), but gave up 401 to the Cougars, and committed two costly turnovers. Asher Ratliff was 22-for-33 for 311 yards and an interception. Ten of Ratliff’s passes went to Morgan Knapp, who had 148 receiving yards. Perry rushed 14 times for 57 yards and a touchdown to lead the ground attack for the Dogs. The Bull Dogs swept both Saturday games, a 21-7 victory by the freshmen at Bloomington North and a 30-16 decision by the JV in a home matchup with the Cougars. The Dogs will finish the regular season at home against Terre Haute South on Friday, October 17. They will recognize the program’s seniors prior to kickoff.
