Boys tennis falls to Homestead 3-2 in IHSAA State quarterfinals

October 18, 2025 - Columbus North boys tennis finished the team portion of their season with a 3-2 loss in the State quarterfinals against second-ranked Homestead on Friday, October 17. The tournament was moved up due to the threat of bad weather on Saturday. Homestead won the three singles matches, and the Bull Dogs swept the doubles matches. The one doubles team of Teddy Littrell and Vince Sasse earned a berth in the individual state tournament due to their undefeated post season run. Match results included: 1S: Alek Devidze L 0-6, 2-6 2S: Max Wei L 0-6, 0-6 3S: Jace Branham L 2-6, 1-6 1D: Littrell/Sasse W 6-2, 6-1 2D: Juca Devidze/Jaishal Padmanabhan W 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 Homestead won their semifinal match and then fell to Carmel in the state title match to finish the season 26-2. The Bull Dogs finished the season 15-7 and won their 48th sectional, 31st regional, and 13th semistate titles this season. North will graduate nine seniors from this year’s squad, including state tournament participants Branham, Littrell, Padmanabhan, and Sasse.
