November 1, 2025 - Columbus North boys cross country has been ranked number one in Indiana for most of the season, and certainly showed why with a dominating performance in Terre Haute on Saturday. The Bull Dogs scored just 58 team points, finishing well ahead of runners up Noblesville (129) and third place Homestead (150) in the 25-team field. Jace Works was the Bull Dogs’ top finisher, recording a time of 15:13.89 to earn eighth place individually. Denton Sluder was 13th, Justin Reckers 17th, Joseph Day 22nd, and Graham Pumphrey 33rd to complete the team scoring. Also competing for the Bull Dogs, but scores not counting toward the team score, were Sam Steinmetz (65th), and Logan Vanzant (75th) in the 250-runner race. The Bull Dogs’ 15:34.91 average time was nearly nine seconds ahead of Noblesville and half a minute faster than Homestead. This was Columbus North’s seventh State title in program history, and their first since the 2020-21 season. The Columbus North girls also capped off an outstanding season with a twelfth-place finish, accumulating 329 team points. Carmel won the girls title with 100 points.
