January 16, 2026 - Columbus North found their groove in the second half at Center Grove on Thursday evening, but by that time the Trojans had built a lead that was just too big to overcome and North fell 58-48 in varsity girls basketball. The Dogs committed too many turnovers and had difficulty finding the bottom of the net in the first half, falling behind 33-16 at the break. North outscored the Trojans 32-25 in the second half and cut the deficit to as little as eight, but were never able to make a serious run to threaten the Trojans’ lead as they fell to 14-5 for the year. Kaylie Harmon had a late-game burst and scored 17 points for the Bull Dogs, but North had no answer for the Trojans’ Gracyn Gilliard, who poured in 34 points for Center Grove. Sydni Schiefer had six rebounds to lead the Bull Dogs, and Kenna Conrad tallied three assists. The JV team got the night started with a 50-44 victory, improving to 15-1. Stella Thompson had 16 points and Bella Kintner added ten in the victory. North’s schedule does not get any easier as Wednesday, January 21 they will visit Silver Creek for another non-conference matchup.
