Dogs cut down the nets at Columbus East Sectional as Harmon records her 1000th career point

February 8, 2026 - After rolling over Whiteland in Friday’s Columbus East Sectional semifinals, Columbus North earned its first sectional championship since 2017 (and 20th overall) with a 40-28 victory over East Central on Saturday, February 7. The Bull Dogs pounded Whiteland 80-48 after jumping out to a quick 27-8 advantage after one quarter. Kaylie Harmon scored 20 points, including her 1000th career point to lead the Dogs. Kenna Conrad added 13, Ava Wilson had eleven, and North got ten each from Riley Sims and Avery Johnson as the Bull Dogs earned a third matchup of the season with East Central in Saturday’s championship game. The Dogs and Trojans split the first two matchup this season, with East Central winning 55-49 on December 12 and the Bull Dogs claiming a 52-29 victory on December 29 at the Cheatham Classic in Scottsburg, setting up the title game on Saturday. North held a 9-7 lead after one quarter, but built a 20-12 lead at the half and never looked back. Avery Johnson topped the Dogs with 12 points, two blocks, and three steals. Miley McClellan added ten points and six rebounds, and Kenna Conrad grabbed a game-high eleven rebounds in the victory. North held East Central to just 10-of-45 from the field, including 1-for-22 from the three point line as they improved to 19-6 for the season. The Bull Dogs will face Evansville Reitz at the Bedford North Lawrence Regional on Saturday, February 14 at 1:00 pm.
