November 6, 2023 - Freshman Kaylie Harmon (shown) led Columbus North with eleven points and Miley McClellan added nine as the Bull Dogs fell to Franklin Community 67-36 in their season-opener. The Bull Dogs were 17-for-20 from the free throw line, but had trouble finding much offensive rhythm against a veteran Grizzly Cub team. Franklin converted nine three-point goals and a number of fast-break layups against the young Bull Dog defense. The JV squad won the early game 51-40 and were led by Riley Sims’ 20-point performance. Ava Wilson added twelve for the Dogs. North will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they host Mooresville, another Mid-State Conference foe. The Dogs open with Mid-State Conference teams in their first three games of the season.
