November 8, 2023 - Columbus North took a 20-19 lead into halftime against Mooresville, but the Pioneers outscored the Bull Dogs 29-17 in the second half to win 48-37 and drop the young Bull Dog squad to 0-2 for the season. The Dogs got off to a hot start, taking a 13-7 lead after one quarter, but were only able to score 15 points over the next two quarters as shots just weren’t falling for the home team. Kaylie Harmon paced the Dogs with 13 points, and Miley McClellan added twelve in the loss. The JV team improved to 2-0 for the season with a 28-21 victory in the early game. Emma Beaver scored ten points in the victory. The Bull Dogs will host their third consecutive home game against a Mid-State Conference opponent to start the season as they will welcome Martinsville to Memorial Gym on Friday, November 10. Members of the Comets youth program will be recognized at half time of the varsity game and will be allowed free admission if wearing their Comets t-shirt. JV will begin at 6:00, with varsity to follow around 7:30. Photo: Sophomore Miley McClellan drives for two of her twelve points against Mooresville.
