November 29, 2023 - Columbus North girls basketball have now won five straight games after a 51-46 home victory over Shelbyville on Tuesday evening. Avery Johnson scored 20 points, Miley McClellan added eleven, and Hadassah Hurt chipped in ten in the victory. The Dogs (5-2) buried seven three-point goals and were 10-for-16 from the free throw line as North has bounced back from two losses to begin the season. The Dogs knocked down five out of seven free throws in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. The JV squad dropped their first game of the season, 23-37, in the early game as Emma Beaver scored eight points to lead North. The JV team is now 5-1. North is scheduled to host Terre Haute South on Saturday afternoon. Terre Haute South does not have a JV team this season, so Columbus North has been searching for an alternative opponent for the JV team. If no opponent is found, the contest will be a varsity-only game, beginning at 2:30 pm.
