North stays undefeated in Conference Indiana play with victory over Bloomington South

January 6, 2024 - Columbus North girls basketball improved to 4-0 in Conference Indiana (10-7 overall) after a 64-55 victory over Bloomington South in Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. The Dogs jumped out to a 22-11 lead after one quarter, and survived a Panther burst during the second quarter to hold a 34-23 lead at the break. The Bull Dogs made 22 of 25 free throws for the game, including 14 of 16 in the fourth quarter when the Panthers were forced to foul. Avery Johnson (shown) had 21 points to lead the Bull Dogs, and North got 13 from Miley McClellan and ten from Kaylie Harmon. The JV team improved to 11-1 for the season (3-0 in Conference Indiana) with a 58-36 victory in the early game. Ava Wilson and Riley Sims each had twelve points in the victory. The Bull Dogs will host Carmel in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, January 9, beginning at 6:00 pm.
