Dogs fall to third-ranked Center Grove 64-49 in girls basketball

January 12, 2024 - Columbus North trailed third-ranked Center Grove 29-11 at halftime, but the Dogs outscored the Trojans 22-13 in the third quarter to work their way back into the game before Center Grove pulled away and won by 15 points. Kaylie Harmon (shown) had 21 points, 19 of which came in the second half, and Avery Johnson added 13 for North, but the Dogs (10-9) were unable to overcome twelve made three-point goals by the Trojans. Center Grove won the early game 46-29 to drop the Bull Dogs to 11-3 for the season. Riley Sims had ten points to lead North. The JV team will travel to Hauser on Saturday, January 13 for a noon tip-off. Both teams will be back in action at Silver Creek next Wednesday (January 17). JV will begin at 6:00, with varsity to follow.
