January 18, 2024 - Silver Creek built a 28-19 lead at halftime and then cruised to a 50-36 victory over Columbus North in varsity girls basketball action Wednesday evening at Silver Creek. The loss dropped North to 10-10 for the season as the Dragons improved to 15-4. Sophomore Miley McClellan (shown in a game earlier this season) led North with 14 points and freshman teammate Kaylie Harmon added ten, including a pair of three-point goals, for the Bull Dogs. North won the JV game by the same 50-36 score to improve to 13-3 for the season. Audrey Nordman paced North with 13 points and the Dogs got ten each from Ava Wilson, Natalie Rohm, and Emma Beaver. Both teams will be back on the court Friday evening at Bloomington North (15-5, 3-0). A Bull Dog victory would clinch the outright Conference Indiana championship for the Dogs as Columbus North will enter the matchup with a perfect 4-0 Conference Indiana record. JV will tip off at 6:00 pm with varsity to follow.
