Bull Dogs finish Conference Indiana season 4-1

January 20, 2024 - Bloomington North and Columbus North entered Friday night’s matchup as the two remaining unbeaten teams in Conference Indiana play. The Cougars’ 51-44 victory over the Bull Dogs left Bloomington North in the driver’s seat for the Conference Indiana title with one game remaining on their conference schedule. The Bull Dogs’ loss dropped them to 4-1 in the conference and in need of help from Terre Haute North to upset the Cougars and give the Dogs a share of the conference title. Friday’s game was competitive from start to finish. Each time the Cougars looked to take control of the game, the Bull Dogs would battle back with a run of their own. The Cougars led 13-11 after one quarter and 24-21 at the half. The two teams traded runs in the second half before the Cougars stretched out to a seven-point final margin of victory. Miley McClellan and Olivia Johnson each had eleven points in the loss, with Kaylie Harmon adding eight and Avery Johnson and Sydney Johnson each chipping in seven. The Bull Dogs JV team finished the Conference Indiana season a perfect 4-0 and improved to 14-3 overall with a decisive 48-21 victory. Riley Sims had 14 and Audrey Nordman added 11 for the Bull Dogs. North will travel to Rushville on Wednesday evening and host Roncalli on Thursday before beginning sectional play the following week.
