Dogs stay undefeated in Conference Indiana

January 2, 2023 - The Columbus North girls basketball team have earned some time off after completing a three games in three days stretch just before New Year’s Day. After a 57-45 victory over Butler (KY) at the Body Armour Showcase in Jeffersonville on Wednesday (Dec 28), the Dogs improved to 3-0 in Conference Indiana with a 60-33 home victory over Terre Haute North on Thursday, December 29. Lauren Barker netted a team-high 14 points against the Patriots and teammate Kathryn Wilson added seven points, five rebounds, and four steals. Emma Long led the Dogs with three assists as the Dogs improved to 9-4 overall. North won both sub-varisty games as well, with a 43-26 victory at the JV levels and a 30-10 decision in the C-squad game. Emma Beaver had 14 for the JV (10-3, 3-0) and Natalie Rohm netted twelve in the C-team (6-1, 1-0) victory. The Dogs then traveled to North Vernon to take on Jennings County (10-3) and dropped a 59-39 decision to end a four-game winning streak. Wilson and Barker each had eight points to pace Columbus North. Hadassah Hurt and Barker each had a pair of assists and Long had two blocks in the loss. North again won both of the early games with a 41-27 JV victory, and a 31-12 decision at the C-team level. Kenna Conrad had nine points and Payton Morris had twelve to lead the JV and C-teams, respectively. The Bull Dogs will travel to Bloomington South (7-5, 3-0) to take on the Panthers on Saturday, January 7. JV will begin at 1:00 with varsity to follow.
