Dogs move to 4-0 in Conference Indiana with road victory over Panthers

January 7, 2023 - The Columbus North Bull Dogs moved to 4-0 in Conference Indiana play (10-5 overall) with one conference game remaining after a 48-39 victory over Bloomington South on Saturday (January 7). Bloomington South and Columbus North were locked atop the conference standings at 3-0 coming into the contest. Lauren Barker was 6-for-6 from the free throw line en route to a team-high 13 points for the Dogs. Barker was complemented by some balanced scoring from her Bull Dog teammates as Kathryn Wilson chipped in nine points, Olivia Johnson recorded eight, Emma Long seven, Miley McClellan six, and Hadassah Hurt added five for the Dogs. The Dogs built a 22-13 edge at half time and outscored the Panthers in three of the four quarters. North had a significant advantage at the free throw line as well, making 17-of-27, while South tallied only 9-for-15 from the charity stripe. North dropped the JV game 35-24, falling to 10-4 (3-1 in Conference Indiana). Lily Priest paced the Bull Dogs with seven points. North will not have much time to enjoy their victory as they will play three games next week. They’ll travel to Carmel on Tuesday, host Center Grove Thursday, and host Lawrenceburg on Saturday in Memorial Gymnasium.
