January 31, 2025 - After a rough performance at Roncalli on Tuesday evening, the Bull Dogs needed to right the ship heading into the sectional tournament. A 63-42 victory over Rushville in Memorial Gymnasium on Thursday night was just what the Bull Dogs needed as they celebrated three senior players prior to the varsity tipoff, Emma Beaver, Hadassah Hurt, and Sydney Johnson. The Bull Dogs jumped out to a 19-4 lead after just one quarter and were up 35-20 at the halftime break. A 13-4 advantage in the third quarter pushed the lead to 48-24 after three quarters, and the Dogs rolled to the 19 point victory. Ava Wilson led a balanced Bull Dog offensive attack with 14 points as nine different North players recorded points in the Senior Night victory. Columbus North finished the regular season with a 16-7 record and will face the Whiteland versus Columbus East winner in round two of next week’s sectional tournament, held at Columbus North. The Bull Dog JV team completed a 17-3 season with a 49-22 victory in the early game. Riley Sims led North with eleven points, and the Dogs got ten from Ava Kerber. Legacy passes, all-sports passes, and student IDs will not be accepted at next week’s sectional tournament. Digital tickets can be purchased in advance through the Columbus North Athletics web page https://columbusnorthathletics.org/Tickets.
