February 8, 2024 - With the exception of a brief 7-0 by the Olympians in the first quarter, the Bull Dogs dominated the IHSAA girls basketball sectional semifinals, and their 70-38 victory moved them into Saturday night’s finals. East Central beat Franklin in the other semifinal and will face the Bull Dogs in the championship game beginning at 7:30 pm at Columbus North. The Bull Dogs had four players record double digit point totals, with Ava Wilson and Kaylie Harmon each having 14 points, Hadassah Hurt adding 13, and Avery Johnson chipping in eleven. Hurt and Johnson led the Dogs in rebounding as well, with eight and seven rebounds, respectively. Eleven different Bull Dogs scored, helping North to improve their season record to 17-7. North’s last sectional title came back in 2017, so the Dogs will try to break that streak when they face East Central (11-11) for the second time this season. North won the first matchup 56-41 on December 12.
