February 9, 2025 - The Bull Dogs had a difficult shooting night on Saturday night in Memorial Gymnasium as they fell to East Central 57-50 in the sectional finals. The Bull Dogs, who had beaten the Trojans 56-41 earlier in the season, finished their season with a 17-8 record. The teams were tied at halftime, but a 8-2 run by East Central to begin the second half gave the Trojans the momentum they needed to hold off the Bull Dogs and advance to next week’s regionals. The Bull Dogs, who had been shooting the ball very well from the perimeter for much of the season, connected on only three shots from three point range for the game. Meanwhile, East Central knocked down a pair of huge three-point goals in the fourth quarter and made seven of their free throws down the stretch to preserve the victory. Kaylie Harmon led North with 17 points and the Dogs got twelve points from Avery Johnson and eleven more from Kenna Conrad. These three underclassmen will return next season, but the loss brought an end to the careers of the program’s three seniors, Sydney Johnson, Hadassah Hurt, and Emma Beaver.
